Piling Mat Material

The design of piling mats will depend on the ground conditions and the piling equipment being used as well as the rig loadings which typically range from 5 to over 150 tonnes.
Piling mat material. In some circumstances recycled demolition material can be used if the metal and timber debris are removed. A piling mat is the base or road way which the piling rig will travel on. Hidden infrastructure such as water pipes and mains gas supplies. Independent laboratories sample and test the material providing appropriate certification.
The piling mat was built using virtabloc 1800 x 600 x 600 blocks. A piling mat working platform protects against a wider range of risks than you might imagine. The design of the piling mat is required to resist the forces from the piling rig during travelling and piling. Piling mats are typically constructed using well graded stone clean crushed concrete or crushed hard rock.
Bare earth that can become deep mud under piling rig tracks in wet weather. Waterlogged land and ground subsidence. Waste materials from demolition can be used for piling mats crushed brick concrete and cement based products to create 6f2 from 75mm down to dust in line with the highways specification 600 series. A piling mat is a type of working platform used for piling rigs to travel on providing a stable base on which they can move around the site and operate.
The risk was designed out by constructing a piling mat foundation 1 8m wide x 3m high x 60m long. Piling mats will need to be compacted in layers and should be free draining to prevent any build up of water or slurry on the surface.
